ACCA
Ben Hildebrand
Presenting solutions to clients before they’ve identified issues themselves brings me great satisfaction – I strive to provide my clients with an excellent service and ensure they are comfortable in the knowledge that their affairs are in safe hands. I always try to take a proactive approach to working with my clients rather than simply reacting when problems arise.
If a client has a recurring problem, rather than just fixing it for them, I help them to understand the cause of the issue to prevent it from happening again, whilst providing them with a comprehensive overview of their business from an external perspective.
My general practice background enables me to advise clients on various aspects of their financial affairs including cash flows, forecasts and guidance on EMIs, alongside providing compliance based services such as the preparation of Financial Statements and completing VAT returns. I use my knowledge and experience gained in general practice to help clients across a variety of sectors including technology, property, restaurants and hairdressing, the majority of which are owner managed business and SMEs.

I graduated from the University of Birmingham with a degree in Economics and went on to join a small general practice firm. After completing my ACCA qualification in 2016, I joined the Gerald Edelman Business Services department and have since expanded my knowledge to assist clients with business development and business growth.
What is the most daring thing you’ve ever done?
I appeared as a guest on a TV programme hosted by Jimmy Carr and Katherine Ryan. These opportunities don’t come up every day and my friends are forever grateful for it!
What is the most exciting thing on your bucket list?
To go to the Super Bowl. I’d love to experience being there rather than just watching on TV.
What one piece of advice would you give your 10-year-old self?
Don’t worry – braces and contact lenses do wonders. Unfortunately, you’ll just have to get used to your hairline (or lack thereof).
If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
Time travel. If I could turn back the clock, I would pursue my dream of being a professional footballer and/or golfer. Unfortunately, time might not be able to help my lack of ability to hit either ball straight!
