Talha Farrukh

Talha is an Audit Director at Gerald Edelman and leads our Energy and Natural Resources (ENR) focused boutique audit and assurance team consisting of highly dedicated and experienced sector specialist auditors with proven sector credentials.

Talha qualified as an Associate Chartered Accountant with ICAEW; he was trained at Deloitte LLP in their London office in Deloitte’s Energy and Natural Resources sector focused corporate audit team delivering and leading a variety of audits subsequent to which he led a variety of audits in the same sector at BDO London.

Talha enjoys working closely with his clients with an aim to add value to their businesses through a quality focused efficient service. His invaluable experience of more than 12 years in the U.K and International corporate audits, inclusive of leading complex site audits in US, Canada, Russia, Europe, Africa and Singapore, on a wide range of engagements of various scales and complexity (ranging from large and complex LSE, AIM, AQUIS and TSX listed companies through to owner managed, private equity and infrastructure funds backed companies) allows him to understand the business risks, applicable regulatory environments and commercial objectives of the boards and management.

His area of expertise include oil and gas, mining, renewables, shipping, investment companies, real estate and hospitality. He has particularly delivered the following high profile audits in the international ENR sector:

Talha has also delivered on non-audit projects consisting of pre IPO HFI engagements, assurance engagements focused on operational improvements and objectives enabling business growth, transformation projects through set-up, implementation and delivery of modern IT tools and off-shore audit delivery centers in Europe and Far East and international recruitment projects.

He is a member of Gerald Edelman’s Talent Committee with an in-depth understanding of U.K audit market resource and a member of Gerald Edelman’s Technical and Training Committee where he shares his wealth of technical accounting and audit expertise inclusive of complex impairment assessments, rehabilitation provisions, inventory valuations, use of experts and FRC best practice guidance on other audit topical areas.

Talha is also a keen cyclist, a music enthusiast and a 18 handicap golfer.
